About the founder

 

Urglobal was founded by Luleka Mkuzo in 2016. Luleka is a community engagement strategist and social entrepreneur focused on facilitating development for rural communities. Her passion has always been social development specifically for rural communities. Prior to starting Urglobal Luleka was employed by one of the largest mining companies in South Africa where she held various positions over a period of 10 years and finally made a decision to resign and leave cooperate at the end of 2016 to follow her passion.

Luleka has had the privilege of graduating her Master’s degree from the University of KwaZulu Natal (UKZN) and has also obtained a qualification as a social entrepreneur from the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS).

Luleka is a 2017 Young African Leaders Initiative (SADC) alumni and a 2018 Mandela Washington Fellow both initiatives founded by Mr. Barack Obama. Growing up Luleka witnessed how her rural communities modeled the spirit of Ubuntu, shared the little they had with each other which ensured that no one suffered alone. It is Luleka’s mission to advance the spirit of Ubuntu it is her wish to keep this legacy alive.
